The Challenge
Select Ortho struggled with an outdated inventory management system that couldn't keep pace with their growing operations. Tracking medical equipment across multiple locations, managing patient fittings and follow-ups, and maintaining compliance with Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements created constant operational headaches. The disconnect between their inventory, patient records, and billing systems resulted in revenue leakage and frustrated both staff and patients. Integration with their existing EHR and billing tools was essential but seemed impossible with their legacy infrastructure.
Our Solution
We built a custom DMEPOS management platform using React for a responsive user interface and .NET for enterprise-grade backend services, with SQL Server ensuring reliable data management and Azure providing scalable cloud infrastructure. The system features comprehensive inventory tracking with barcode scanning, patient fitting scheduling and documentation, automated insurance verification, and seamless integration with existing EHR systems and billing platforms. We implemented real-time inventory alerts, patient follow-up automation, and compliance documentation generation.
The Results
The integrated DMEPOS system eliminated operational silos and created a unified workflow from patient intake through billing. Select Ortho experienced significant improvements in operational efficiency and revenue capture.
