About This Policy
Nibble AI ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered nutrition tracking application developed by Optiwise. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use Nibble AI. By using Nibble AI, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account using Sign in with Apple, we collect: User ID (a unique identifier provided by Apple), Display Name (optional, only if you choose to share it), and Email Address (your email or Apple's private relay address, optional).
Profile Information
To provide personalized nutrition recommendations, you may choose to provide: date of birth, gender, height and weight, measurement unit preference (imperial or metric), timezone, and daily nutrition goals (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium).
Meal Data
When you log meals, we collect: Meal Photos (temporarily processed by AI for analysis, not stored long-term), Meal Thumbnails (a 600px compressed thumbnail stored for meal history display), Nutrition Information (identified food items, portions, and nutritional values), Timestamps (when meals were logged), and Optional Notes (any notes you add to meals).
Device Information
For push notifications, we collect: device token, device name and model, operating system version, and app version.
Usage Data
We automatically collect: meal logging streaks, achievement progress, meal timing patterns (used for personalized reminders), and AI-generated insights.
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to Nibble More (premium), we collect: subscription product type, purchase and expiration dates, transaction identifiers, and subscription status.
Apple HealthKit Data (Optional)
With your explicit permission, we may write nutritional data to Apple Health (calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar, sodium). We do not read any data from Apple HealthKit.
How We Use Your Information
Provide Core Services
We analyze meal photos using AI to estimate nutritional content, track and display your meal history and nutrition progress, and calculate personalized daily nutrition goals.
Personalize Your Experience
We generate AI-powered weekly and monthly nutrition insights, provide contextual meal reminders based on your patterns, and track achievements and streaks to motivate your journey.
Send Notifications
We send meal reminders, streak alerts, goal achievements, and weekly insight availability notifications. You can customize or disable all notification types in Settings.
Improve Our Services
We analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns, identify and fix bugs, and develop new features.
Third-Party Services
Anthropic (Claude AI)
Purpose: Analyzes meal photos to identify foods and estimate nutrition. Data Shared: Compressed meal images (not stored by Anthropic). Privacy Policy: https://www.anthropic.com/privacy
Supabase

Apple Services

USDA FoodData Central

Open Food Facts
Purpose: Barcode scanning for packaged food data. Data Shared: Product barcodes (not tied to your identity). Privacy Policy: https://world.openfoodfacts.org/terms-of-use
Data Storage and Security
Where Your Data is Stored
Your data is stored in Supabase's cloud infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United States.
Security Measures
We implement industry-standard security measures including: Encryption in Transit (all data transmitted using TLS/HTTPS), Encryption at Rest (database encrypted at rest), Row Level Security (database policies ensure users can only access their own data), Secure Authentication (Sign in with Apple provides secure, private authentication), and Access Controls (only authorized personnel can access infrastructure).
Data Retention
Meal Data is retained as long as your account is active. Meal Photos (compressed thumbnails) are retained; original photos are processed and not stored. Account Data is retained until you delete your account. Notification History is retained for 90 days.
Your Rights and Choices
Access Your Data
You can view all your personal data within the app, including your profile, meal history, and nutrition data.
Delete Your Data
You can delete your account and all associated data by going to Settings in the app, tapping "Delete Account", and confirming the deletion. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data will be removed within 30 days.
Export Your Data
You can request a copy of your data by contacting us at contact@optiwise.us.
Manage Notifications
You can customize or disable notifications in Settings > Notifications.
HealthKit Permissions
You can revoke HealthKit permissions at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Nibble AI.
Opt Out of Analytics
The app does not currently use third-party analytics. All usage data is aggregated and anonymized.
Children's Privacy
Age Restrictions
Nibble AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@optiwise.us and we will delete it. For users between 13 and 18, parental consent may be required depending on your jurisdiction.
International Data Transfers
Data Transfer Notice
If you are located outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States where our servers are located. By using Nibble AI, you consent to this transfer. For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission for international data transfers.
Changes to This Policy
Policy Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the app, sending a push notification (if enabled), and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Nibble AI after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
Your California Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information), and non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.
